For today's 5 on Friday, I am going to share the fitness gear I am loving right now!
1. Duo Dry Endurance Tanks
|Duo Dry Endurance Tank from Target|
I got two these tanks for my birthday from my BFF, and they are awesome. They are lightweight, super cute, and don't ride up when I run. An all-around win if you ask me!
2. New Kicks and Socks
These are my first pair of running shoes. They are Saucony Women's Guide 6s, and I love them so far! I bought them from Big River Running Company, and the guy who helped me was awesome. He also helped me pick out socks. They are a little on the expensive side ($13/pair), but they are amazing! The Swiftwick Aspire Zeroes are thin and have a flat toe seam, so no irritation there. I never thought I'd be so excited about sneakers and socks :)
3. Garmin Forerunner 110
|It was a rough 4 miles, but I finished.|
After I saw this blog post from ElleNoel, I was intrigued. I did some research and started paying attention to other blogging runners and noticed that they all used GPS watches. The longer the runs, the more it will drain my phone battery if I have music playing and MapMyRun going at the same time. So, I decided to add the Garmin Forerunner 110 to my birthday wish list. I have run with it twice already and love it so far!
I tend to be overly optimistic and like to look at the world with rose colored lenses. With that being said, I don't want to ignore the fact that accidents happen. If I am out on a run and I pass out, get sick, have a run in with a motor vehicle, etc., I want to make sure that first responders know who to call in case of an emergency. Shout out to my mama for surprising me with the Shoe ID for my bday! The Shoe ID is a little tag that velcros through your laces and displays ICE contact info.
I got my Yurbuds about 2 years ago, and I have loved them ever since. They twist and lock into your ear, so they stay put throughout your workout. My ears are on the littler side, and a lot of headphones hurt my ears because they are too big. But, not these!
Another plus? Something about they way they are designed makes it so you don't have to turn your music up as loud, and you can still hear what's going on around you. Seriously, though, if you're in the market for new headphones, get them. They are worth every penny, I promise!
Side note about Yurbuds: They are a St. Louis based company, and they are currently ranked as the top fitness headphone in the United States!
Since I am new at this whole running thing, I am always open to trying out new things, so if you have any favorites you think I should try, please let me know!
