What's In My Makeup Bag

Hi, my name is Tori, and I am a makeup addict.

There, I confessed! I'm not going to even try to justify it; I just really love beauty products. Everything from foundation & eyeshadow to brushes & perfume, I love it all!

AND, I found a new link party that only feeds into this obsession of mine, which is a-ok in my book!

Without further ado, here's what my makeup station (yes, a station, not a bag) looks like:

A few snippets about my collection:

  • Some of it is mid-to-high end, but some of it is also from the drugstore.
  • I use Bare Minerals Fairly Light and Mineral Veil everyday.
  • Makeup brushes and teasing combs take up most of the surface area.
  • Sephora is heaven on earth. No joke! Their staff is super friendly and knowledgable, and they have a wide range of product lines to choose from. It's my favorite :)
These are the things I cannot live without and are a staple in all makeup applications, from everyday to special occasions.

From left to right:

  • Urban Decay Urbanglow Cream Highlight. I just started using a highlighter and it makes my skin look dewey without looking greasy. It also makes my skin look really refreshed.
  • Barbizon TV Touch Concealer. You can't buy it online, but you can buy it from a Barbizon  modeling school. Yes, that's right, I went to Barbizon in high school. But seriously, the concealer is designed to be used when being photographed, so it's the real deal.
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance. This is an eye shadow primer designed to bring out the color pigment of the shadow and prevent it from creasing/getting gross on your lid. I have been using Shadow Insurance for years, and it has been worth every penny.
  • Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. I just started using this, and it has literally changed my life. I used to get really bad, black smudges under my eyes from mascara, but NOT ANYMORE! And, this stuff is only $10 and has a baby wand that's perfect for applying on lower lashes.
  • Diorshow Waterproof Mascara. Best mascara ever made. It goes on thick without looking cakey, and it makes my eyes pop.

And, my makeup pride and joy...

My Sephora Studio! It has 96 eyeshadows, 3 blushes, 1 bronzer, 6 cream eyeliners, and hidden underneath the eyeshadows are about 40 lipcolors. Every holiday season, Sephora comes out with a new version (I got mine in 2011), and they retail for around $50, which I think is total steal for all of the product you get. They have a mini version here, but the big ones come out around October-ish.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I am by no means an expert cosmetologist, but I do have a love for cosmetics.

Also, I have been loving Maskcara, a great beauty blog with a ton of hair and makeup tutorials, as well as product reviews. You can really tell that she knows what she's doing. Check it out!

  1. You were not even kidding. I love shadow insurance!

  2. I wondered how much you were going to say the Sephora set was, and when I got to the part where you said $50, I was surprised! Not too bad at all.

    1. It's completely worth every penny! And, it's a one-stop-shop, so I don't spend a lot of money on other makeup things. I love it :)
